- Butter, for greasing
- 225gPlain flour plus extra for dusting
- 225gSelf rising flour ( alternatively use self rising wholemeal for extra fibre)
- 1tspBicarbonate of soda
- 2tbspBlack treacle ( or use maple syrup or honey or golden syrup)
- 50gPorridge oats, plus 1 tbsp for sprinkling
- 475mlAlmond milk ( or other alternative vegan milk)
- 1tspSea salt
Instructions
- 1
1. Preheat the oven to 200C/180C fan/Gas 6 and grease a baking tray with butter. (See note below)
- 2
2. Mix all the bread ingredients together in a large bowl until a soft sticky dough is formed. Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and form into a round. Sprinkle the additional 1 tbsp of oats on top and transfer to the baking tray.
- 3
3 Bake for around 35 - 40 mins, or until golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom. Place on a wire rack to cool.

Note. As the dough can be very sticky and hard to handle, if you have a silicon bread mould, or a lekue bread maker the dough can be poured directly into that.
